Dr.YSR Horticultural University, 2nd of its kind in the country was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh on 26th June, 2007. This university is functioning with a mandate to develop human resources through Education, Research and Extension in horticulture and allied sectors and concentrating on transfer of technologies (extension activities through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), Horticultural Research Stations (HRSs), Colleges of Horticulture and Horticultural Polytechnics) for the benefit of farmers, rural youth and women directly and through Rythu Bharosa Kendrams (RBKs), District Resource Centres (DRCs) and Department of Horticulture, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
